A website may have one or two pages, or it may have dozens or even hundreds of pages. But even with a simple 5 page website, it usually takes about a month from the very start – logo, website template and navigation design, contents writing, implementing – till the website is deployed on a web hosting and available via a web browser on any computer. Besides, developing a website is a highly interactive and iterative process when we share with you some interim design ideas and ask for your feedback. It might take several “back and forth” iterations until we both agree on what the final product would be.
If somebody tells you that they are going to make your website in a couple of days most likely they are reselling you a non-original website with duplicated design and contents. Google penalizes such copycat websites dearly.
Google’s official answer is "Crawling and indexing are processes which can take some time and which rely on many factors. In general, we cannot make predictions or guarantees about when or if your URLs will be crawled or indexed." From our experience though Google crawls and indexes a new website within a couple of days after we set up Google Analytics for your website and submit to Google all necessary information about it.
The quickest and easiest way to find whether your website has been indexed by Google is to open your web browser, navigate to the Google site www.google.com and type in the Search field:
site:your_domain_name
Do not type www in front of your domain name and do not type any blank spaces. For example, if your website address (URL) is usa-travel.com or www.usa-travel.com you should type:
site:usa-travel.com
Google returns a list of pages it has already indexed. Do not expect Google to index all your pages at once when Google first crawls your website; usually it indexes a couple of pages on the first crawl and then add more on the subsequent crawls which might happen in a month or so after the previous one.
There is only one universal answer to this question: “It depends”. It depends on many factors that are different across different online businesses, such as:
and many, many others. To get you started, please read our blog post How do you start an online store? But the first and foremost you need a good product to sell, - no website will sell you a lousy product or a product for which there is no demand. Still have questions, feel free to contact us.
